This awareness presentation provides an overview of all hazards that may affect the Cayman Islands and presents strategies for preparing for, and reducing the likelihood of impacts. The presentation can be adapted to suit a variety of audiences including businesses, government agencies and schools from Primary through to University.

This presentation looks at the threat posed by seismic activity and provides strategies for preparing for, and reducing the likely impact of these threats. Past events are discussed and the presentation considers the regional and geological context of the Cayman Islands. The presentation can be adapted to suit a variety of audiences including businesses, government agencies and schools from Primary through to University.

 

Hurricane Preparedness

This presentation looks at the threat posed by hurricanes and provides strategies and guidance for preparing for, and reducing the likely impact of this threat. Past hurricane impacts are also reviewed. The presentation can be adapted to suit a variety of audiences including businesses, government agencies and schools from Primary through to University.

 

CERT Training

HMCI and Red Cross reach consensus on the establishment of new teams but please contact HMCI if you would like to have your community considered for the establishment of a CERT Team. We are always on the lookout for those individuals who could possibly lead or champion the development of a group in their community..

 

Business Continuity Planning (BCP) Overview

HMCI has members of staff that are trained in Business Continuity Management. HMCI does not write the continuity plans for businesses, however they are willing to come in and present on the main principles of Business Continuity Planning (BCP) and provide specific examples of vulnerabilities and threats. HMCI is also able to speak to the benefits and advantages of having a BCP..

 

Continuity of Operations Planning

Every Government Department and Agency is required to file a Continuity of Operations Plan (COOP) each year. These plans are important documents that help ensure that critical Government operations are restored as quickly as possible following an impact from a hazardous event. HMCI is willing to provide COOP planning guidance, and presentations can also be arranged.
