ArriveAlive 345 - National Road Safety

#ArriveAlive 345
The National Drug Council of the Cayman Islands, in partnership with Compass Media and the Royal Cayman Islands Police Service (RCIPS), runs the annual #ArriveAlive 345 campaign. This year’s campaign launched on 6 October 2025 and runs through 31 December 2025. The campaign aims to raise awareness of alcohol misuse and reduce the number of alcohol-related road accidents during the holiday season. Every instance of impaired driving increases the risk of tragic outcomes. By choosing not to drink-and-drive, drivers can help save lives and ensure a safe and joyful holiday season for everyone.
Initiatives such as the Purple Ribbon Pledge and the New Year’s Eve Purple Ribbon Bus foster a culture of prevention and shared responsibility. Make thoughtful choices, plan ahead, and help create safer roads in the Cayman Islands.
Purple Ribbon Pledge
The Purple Ribbon Pledge encourages drivers to show their commitment to not drinking and driving during the holiday season. Taking the pledge demonstrates recognition of the serious and potentially fatal consequences that impaired driving poses to every road user. The pledge promotes a collective effort among residents and visitors alike to reduce impaired driving, strengthen community safety, and reinforce a culture of responsible alcohol consumption.
Everyone can play a role in preventing road fatalities and saving lives. Sign the pledge and join us in our efforts to eliminate road fatalities this holiday season.
Designated Driver Programme
Designated drivers play a vital role in keeping our roads safe during the festive season. They provide a responsible alternative for those attending social gatherings where alcohol is present by committing to abstain from drinking and ensuring their friends and family arrive home safely. By taking on this role, designated drivers demonstrate the far-reaching impact of responsible choices. Their actions protect passengers, themselves, and everyone else on the road through sensible decision-making. Under the tagline #DesignateBeforeYouCelebrate, this initiative encourages families and friends to plan ahead and designate a responsible driver before celebrations begin, building strong community support and engagement around road safety.
