Passport & Corporate Services Office

The Passport & Corporate Services Office provides passport services and US visa waivers to British Overseas Territory citizens residing in the Cayman Islands. We are also responsible for the issuance of the Governor’s Special Marriage Licence and legalisation of documents.

Passport Services

We provide the following services:

  • Processing and issuing of British Overseas Territories Citizen / Cayman Islands passports and providing the residents of the Cayman Islands with advice regarding claims;
  • Providing the residents of the Cayman Islands with advice regarding visa requirements for their travel plans, including:
    • The provision of U.S. Visa Waivers (valid only if used within a period of twelve months from the date of issue and can only be used for a single journey to the U.S., commonly known as a waiver);
    • Providing information on how to apply for a U.S. Non-Immigrant Visa (see Requirements for U.S. Visa information sheet);
    • Providing information on ESTA (Electronic System for Travel Authorization) for U.S. immigration purposes (this only applies to those travelling to the U.S. on the Visa Waiver Programme, for example British Citizen passport holders);
    • British Citizen emergency passports
  • Processing and forwarding of U.S. Visas to the U.S. Embassy in Jamaica

Please note District Administration in Cayman Brac handles applications for passports for residents in Cayman Brac and Little Cayman. 

Fees (restrictions apply and are dependent upon circumstances):
  • Child (under 16 years of age) = CI$75.00
  • Adult = CI$100
  • Senior citizens = Free of Cost

Apply for a US Visa Waiver

Complete this form when you wish to travel for a one-time visit to the United States using a Cayman Islands (British Overseas Territories Citizen) passport, travelling directly from the Cayman Islands to the US.

In submitting this form you should enclose the following (where appropriate):
  • Valid Cayman Islands Passport
  • CI$25.00 cash/cheque for a three-to-four business days' service for Grand Cayman residents
  • CI $15.00 cash/cheque for a three-to-four-business days' service for Cayman Brac and Little Cayman residents
  • CI$50.00 for an Express Service - all residents
  • Senior citizens = Free of Cost
  • Police Clearance Certificate

What happens next?
Once your travel documents have been filed with the Passport & Corporate Services Office and a date/time arranged for collection, you must ensure that they are collected prior to your departure.

Apply for a U.S. Non-Immigrant Visa

To apply for a new visa, the following items are required:

  • A printed confirmation page of the completed electronic application form DS-160. This form must be completed and submitted online.
  • After completing and submitting the US Visa application online, proceed to create an account in order to choose a courier pick-up location (this is only done as a means of being able to complete the process correctly online, therefore choose the DHL Kingston Location), make payment for the US Visa application by Debit/Credit Card in the amount of US$185.00 and to print the "Courier In Authorization Certificate"
  • Valid BOTC-Cayman Islands passport that will not expire within the next six months. There should be sufficient blank pages available in the passport to affix a visa, should a visa be granted. Each applicant must possess their own passport. No visas will be issued to children who are added to their parent’s passport.
  • Expired or other Passport (if held a U.S. visa before)
  • 1 full-face photograph (white or off-white background)
  • A recent Police Clearance Certificate for ANY applicant sixteen years of age or older
  • Any additional documents that may demonstrate the applicant’s social and economic ties outside the United States, OR that otherwise help to support or clarify the application.
    • Original Birth Certificate
    • Copy of parent's valid passport data page and valid US Visa (if applicant is a child) - If parent's passport is not a BOTC-Cayman Islands passport, please provide a copy of parent's Caymanian Status Letter/Certificate OR their BOTC Naturalization Certificate
    • Proof that payment for Visa application was successful
    • Courier In Authorization Certificate

Personal Interview

A personal interview at the United States Embassy in Kingston, Jamaica will be required, but is not limited to, the following applicants:

  • If you are 14 to 79 years of age and applying for a US Visitor’s visa for the FIRST TIME or RENEWAL
  • Applicants 80 years old and older applying for a US Visitor’s Visa for the first time

You MUST schedule an appointment time for your interview. Appointments can be made after you have created an account on this website. The Passport & Corporate Services Office forwards (BOTC-Cayman Islands Passports & British Citizen Passports ONLY) applications weekly to the U.S. Embassy for a non-refundable fee of CI$50.00 cash (Per Applicant). This service is only for children age 14 and under and seniors 80 and over.

Corporate Services

The Corporate Services Office is responsible for:

  • The legalisation of documents. A public document originating in the Cayman Islands cannot be recognised abroad until it has been legalised by a member of staff who has been duly authorised by the Head of Passport and Corporate Services to sign documents on his/her behalf. These public documents are legalised by the process of affixing of an Apostille or Authentication


Apply for a Special Marriage Licence

Visitors who choose the Cayman Islands for their destination wedding must apply for a Special Marriage Licence to be issued by the Corporate Services Office.

  • Licence fee: CI$150.00

What happens next?
Completed applications are processed by our office. Once the licence has been collected by the individual or agent responsible the ceremony may then be conducted by a registered marriage officer in and for the Cayman Islands.

Legalise Documents

Apostilles :
  • Regular service = $150 per document
  • Express service = $200 per document
Documents should be notarised by a registered notary if document originates from General Registry and not dated within current year, a notary is required. All notarial certificates should be securely bonded to all attached documents with ribbons, or rivets.
