What personal data we collect

The Wellness Committee has selected a third-party vendor- Big Team Challenge- as the platform to administer the Pedometer Challenge. Big Team Challenge will be data processor for the Deputy Governor’s Pedometer Challenge (Pedometer Challenge).

The Wellness Committee will collect your name, government email address and aggregated step count for your team. Through administrator access to the Pedometer Challenge, the Wellness Committee and the vendor will also be able to view any comments that participants may choose to enter into the Chat function of the platform.

Why do we collect this information and what do we do with it?

We need to collect, use, and store your personal data in order to provide employees with a platform to join the Pedometer Challenge. The Pedometer Challenge is voluntary and will require your express consent to use your personal data.

Participants in the Challenge will log their daily step count to our vendor platform, Big Team Challenge. Participants have the option to manually log their daily step count to the Big Team Challenge platform or connect their chosen fitness app with the platform.

Team steps will be tracked between January 19 to February 8, 2026, and the aggregated data used to determine prize giving.  

Who has access to your personal information?

Wellness Committee members will hold administrative rights to the Pedometer Challenge data to ensure data accuracy.  Team members can see each other’s step count.

As our data processor, Big Team Challenge will have access to the Pedometer Challenge data.  Their privacy notice can be found here: https://app.bigteamchallenge.com/privacy.

Big Team Challenge uses Postmark to process communications about the Pedometer Challenge. Postmark’s privacy notice can be found here: https://postmarkapp.com/security. Only email addresses will be shared by Big Team Challenge with Postmark to manage communications with participants. You will be asked to provide express consent for this function.

How long do we hold your information?

We only keep your personal data for as long as we need to in order to use it as described above, and/or for as long as we have your permission to keep it.

What are your rights? You have the right to:

  • Ask for any incorrect information we hold to be put right.
  • Ask us not to use your personal information anymore.
  • Ask us to delete your personal information.
  • Request details of the information we hold about you.
