Ocean Vessel

All vessels arriving in the Cayman Islands must first proceed to the George Town Port in Grand Cayman or the Cayman Brac Port for Customs and Border Control Clearance.

Inbound Ocean Vessel Information

  • All arriving vessels must report to George Town Port for clearance by Customs and Border Control (CBC).
  • Vessels arriving for fuel or in transit require Customs and Border Control clearance.
  • All arriving vessels must contact Cayman Port Authority on VHS radio channel 16.
  • A Yellow Quarantine Flag must be flown and visually displayed.
  • Failure to fly a Quarantine Flag on arrival in Port or leaving a vessel before being cleared by Customs and Border Control is a procedural offence which carries a fine of up to CI$1000.00
  • Proceeding in person to the Customs and Border Control Office for clearance on arrival is prohibited, unless authorized by CBC.
  • On boarding of vessel by Customs Officials for clearance all firearms, spear guns, hawaiian slings, bows, catapults or other manually operated weapons which are capable of projecting arrows or other missiles which is restricted or prohibited must be declared and surrendered to Customs and Border Control.
  • Evidence of clearance from last Port of Call must be produced.
  • Office hours are Monday to Friday 8:30 am to 4:00 pm, Saturday 8:30 am to 12:00 noon.
  • A special attendance clearance fee is charged for vessels requesting clearance outside of the normal Office hours.
