Prioritising Safety Through Continued Training

10 June 2025 | Blog | By: Kevin Watler

MRCU in training

At the Mosquito Research & Control Unit (MRCU), safety is always a top priority — for our team and for the wider community. That’s why we’re committed to ongoing staff training and continuous education to ensure our operations meet the highest standards.

Recently, our trusted pesticide supplier, Clarke, conducted a comprehensive training session for our team on the safe and effective use of the products we deploy. The training covered essential do’s and don’ts, reinforcing the importance of proper handling, storage, and application techniques. While the products we use are safe when applied correctly, any chemical can pose risks if misused. That’s why we go above and beyond to make sure our team is fully equipped with the knowledge and skills to use them responsibly.

This investment in training not only protects our staff, but also helps safeguard the environment and the community we serve. By prioritizing safe practices, we maintain the integrity of our mosquito control efforts and continue to deliver high-quality, environmentally sensitive service across the Cayman Islands.
